About Film School
What is Film School?
Film School is a private screening series run by Dann & Avi. We get friends together to watch great films — usually one every week or two during a season.
How do I get invited?
Film School is invite-only. If you know Dann or Avi, just let them know you’re interested and they’ll set up your account. See the Accounts guide for more details.
Accounts & Login
How do I create an account?
You don’t — Dann & Avi create accounts for everyone. Once they’ve added your email, you can log in right away. See the Accounts guide.
How do I log in?
Film School uses magic codes instead of passwords. Enter your email on the login page, check your inbox for a 6-digit code, and enter it. Full walkthrough in the Logging In guide.
I’m not getting my login code
Check your spam folder, make sure you’re using the right email, and try requesting a new code. More troubleshooting tips in the Logging In guide.
Events & RSVPs
How do I RSVP to a screening?
Log in, then open the film’s page (from your homepage, a season link, or a shared URL). In the bar at the bottom, pick Just me, +1 or +2, and tap RSVP. Step-by-step instructions in the RSVP guide.
Can I bring friends?
Yes! When you RSVP, you can select +1 or +2 to bring guests. Your total (you + guests) counts toward the screening’s capacity. See Bringing Guests.
What if a screening is full?
If all spots are taken, you won’t be able to RSVP until someone cancels or changes their guest count. Keep an eye on it or ask Dann & Avi. More in the Bringing Guests guide.
Can I change or cancel my RSVP?
To change your guest count, tap a different guest pill on the film’s page. To cancel, tap Cancel RSVP to free your spot — no need to contact Dann or Avi. Details in the RSVP guide.
Voting & Suggestions
How does voting work?
When a community poll is open, you’ll get a link to vote. You rank the candidate films in order of preference — the winner is chosen by ranked-choice voting. Full details in the Community Polls guide.
Can I change my vote?
No — once you submit your ballot, it’s final. Make sure you’re happy with your ranking before hitting submit.
How do I suggest a film?
Log in and visit your homepage. You’ll see a suggestion form where you can type in a film title. Dann & Avi review suggestions when planning future seasons. See Suggesting Films.
